In our society, the disabled body and mind is often faced with barriers, whether architectural, educational, cultural, or based on ableist perceptions and misconceptions. Dance movement artists have the unique ability to undermine and usurp some of these misconceptions and offer a shared physical experience that can begin to build bridges instead of walls. This session will include an interactive activity for participants as well as sharing and discussion on the topic of disabled movement artists and why they matter for our community.

Christine Hands' culminating MFA performance. Based off of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, this cyber-punk, sci-fi, gender-blurring, radical re-imagining of a classic play will question everything you thought you knew about Hamlet.
