Citizen Displaced

 Citizen Displaced
(2018)

Citizen Displaced was funded by an M-Cubator grant from the University of Maryland School of Music. A collaboration between music and dance, this event at the University of Maryland brings awareness to the global refugee crisis.

A Statement from the Collaborators:
This piece is a work dedicated to the global refugee crisis. With the current rise of xenophobia and nationalism, we believe strongly that this moment in history is an important time for artists of different backgrounds to work together. Pablo and Anto have especially personal connections to this subject, as immigrants from Bolivia and Syria respectively, who know firsthand the importance of art as a medium to express the experience of immigrants and refugees around the world. Our hope is that this piece of art will be the beginning of a conversation; a place to begin.
